Its never too late to quit smoking...

October 12, 2017

The NHS 'Stoptober' campaign has helped over a million people to quit smoking...impressive indeed! But with over 9 million people in the UK still smoking and surveys showing the majority of these wanting to stop smoking but with only 30-40% making an attempt to stop in a given year, there is clearly still some way to go!

We all know Smoking is dangerous to health and drastically cuts life expectancy. Around 96,000 people in the UK are dying from diseases caused by smoking each year and more than a quarter of all cancer deaths can be attributed to smoking. Each cigarette is literally a lethal cocktail of carcinogenic chemicals and poisons.

The good news is that it is never too late to stop smoking and the benefits of quitting are immediate...

  • Within 20 mins your blood pressure and heart rate return to normal

  • Within 24 hours your body begins to clear itself of mucus from the body

  • Within 72 hours your energy levels and breathing improves

  • Within 1 year your risk of suffering from a heart attack falls to about half of that of a smoker

  • Within 10 years your risk of developing lung cancer falls to about half of that of a smoker

  • Within 15 years your risk of having a heart attack falls to that of a non-smoker

And that's not to mention the benefits to your pocket too. Quitting smoking could make you up to £250 per month better off (based on an average of smoking 20 cigarettes per day)...thats an extra family holiday per year!

Theres a great deal of help out there to help you if you want to stop smoking and hypnotherapy has proven to be a very effective treatment for a great many people.

How can Hypnotherapy help?

The ultimate aim of stop smoking hypnosis is to empower people to take control of their smoking habit. As its the thoughts and behaviours the smoker holds which is often what prevents them from successfully giving up, hypnotherapy works to break these negative behaviours and thinking patterns associated with smoking and replacing them with healthier and more beneficial ways of thinking and behaving.

A single session is all that is needed for many people to give up smoking immediately whilst others may benefit from further sessions.
