What is Hypnotherapy ?
Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis to treat a variety of problems in a controlled and clinical way.
So, what is Hypnosis?
Hypnsosis is a perfectly natural state that we all experience on a daily basis. Its a lot like the feeling you get when you are daydreaming or totally absorbed in a good book. This state of mind is special because when you are in hypnosis your sub-conscious mind is open and receptive. This can enable you to make profound changes enabling the issues that brought you to hypnotherapy to be resolved.
Will the therapist be in control of me?
Absolutely not ! When under hypnosis, you cannot be made to say or do anything that you are not comfortable with...its nothing like the stage show hypnosis! You are in total control at all times.

What if I can't be hypnotised?
This only happens to people who really don't want to be hypnotised. All I need is for you to trust in me, have confidence in yourself and the hypnotic process. Please remember that hypnotherapy is a collaborative 'team effort' between therapist and client.
Are there any side effects to hypnosis?
Yes ! and they are all good. Hypnosis is known to improve memory, enhance creativity and of course induce relaxation.

How do sessions generally run?
Usually the first session is an initial assessment; its important to find out as much information as possible and to find the root cause of what you're experiencing so that a treatment plan can be tailored specifcally for you. After that, during hypnosis your conscious mind will get into a relaxed state and I will give your subconscious mind helpful suggestions designed to help you resolve the issues you want help with.
How long will the process take ?
Each client is as individual as each case and so it is impossible to put a definitive time frame on any treatment. After an inital appointment I will be able to give an indication of the number of sessions required and prepare a treatment plan that is tailor made for your individual needs.
